Heidi Joy

I had such a wonderful time singing two Christmas Concerts in my home state of Nebraska this month, one in Papillion, the other in Boys Town. The children of Boys Town are an amazing crowd, for the 12th year in a row! They are so polite and give incredible rounds of applause. (The band loves this treat, too.) Also First Lutheran Church had us back for the 7th year. We so enjoyed being back at this lovely church again.

Today I was asked by the American Kennel Club to sing the National Anthem at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championships in Orlando this weekend. There will be Dog Agility, Dog Obedience and the premiere Dog Show. I am really looking forward to this opportunity. I will also be assisting at the Gate with the Agility Competitions later in the day.

Also this month I enjoyed singing a wedding ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica in St. Augustine, the oldest city in the USA.

"Summertime and the livin' is easy..."

I have enjoyed meeting Northeast Florida Musicians. I look forward to having a band together soon, and putting my original music out there for you to hear.

Engaged Couples will gather at the Bridal Fantasy Bridal Show at World Gold Village in St. Augustine next week. I hope to have a calendar full of Weddings for 2011. It is one of my favorite times to sing!

Several December performances are booked in my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. It will be great to be back Home for the Holidays and sing my favorite Christmas songs and songs from my albums at these events.

Next Friday, a few of Omaha's finest musicians will join me for a free concert at Rockbrook Village. I look forward to seeing my Nebraska friends and fans there.

Many times over my 20-year career, I have been asked, "Do you write your own music?". And though I have from time to time, only two songs have ever been recorded, "Snowflakes" and "We Can Be Free."

About two weeks ago... The inspiration was coming, this I knew. The anticipation grew to let melodies and lyrics flow and during one long day spent at the beach, I felt very inspired. Eight songs were complete in one sitting and editing followed. I look forward to one day bringing these songs, each written by the sea, to complete fruition. The perfectionist in me will decide when they are ready to be heard.
